'Who gets what? And why? And why don't I get that much?'

These are typical questions I get when I am brought in to settle disputes on the division of partnership profits. First up, your partnership agreement MUST provide a method for divvying up the spoils.

The formula you use should be fair to everyone, and it should be transparent. So, if, for example, you place some importance on the ability to bring in new business, and one partner out-performs all the others, then is it not fair that they be rewarded accordingly?
